Digital Life™ Serial Digital Cable
I had a customer the other day telling me his security RG59 cable was great for Home Theatre and there’s was no difference in quality. I cut up his cable, stripped it, ripped out the braid with my fingers, broke off the center conductor in a flash, kinked pretending to be a bad installer, terminated it and tried to get a signal down it…all of 2meters. It did work but with a grainy result on a composite signal. Imagine if it was 1080 resolution over 50m and you only find out after the gypbroks on the walls, painted, no cavity, customer’s gears ready to be connected. Oops.
I got him to do the same to the Digital Life™ Serial Digital Cable (DLSDI), he couldn’t pull the braid out, he had to bend back and forth AND keep bending the center conductor, to eventually break it, he then kinked it. I made him terminate it, and we got signal down it over 5 meters. No grain or signal degradation. PERFECT!
I still got both cables on my desk if anyone pops in and wants to see.
Moral to my story.
Cable is cable, for each own application and purpose.
If you’re doing home theatre, you need a good quality performing serial digital cable. For Audio and Video applications.
